I would not have been able to finish this without the contributions from [livejournal.com profile] mistokath13 and [livejournal.com profile] shades_of_hades, both of whom talked me through periods where I was stuck and helped me find way my through. Beta'd by the ever-awesome [livejournal.com profile] marienne_made, who helped me out even though she's super busy. ♥ thank you, bb! Any remaining awkwardness is mine.

| Totally gorgeous art! [NSFW] |

The more I look at my art, the more I love it. I'm eagerly (and anxiously!) awaiting the second scene illustration, but I'm so in love with what she did with my original characters. You should all go look at it and leave her some well-deserved love! Go ahead; I'll wait. :)
annabethbigbang: (Sam & Jess: this tragic past. [kelleigh])
Title: my heart and soul are kind of famished
(what a beautiful piece of heartache this has all turned out to be)
Author name: Lily, [livejournal.com profile] annabeth
Artist name: [livejournal.com profile] osmalic
Genre: wincest
Pairing: Sam/Dean main; Sam/Jess.
Rating: NC-17
Word count: 84,000+ [breakdown: Book One: 34,533; Book Two: 49,831; TOTAL: 84,364]
Warnings/Spoilers: het sex. slash sex. incest. casefics. AU. horror. angst. character death (canon and otherwise; not Sam and Dean); highlight to read (story spoilers): Jess and Sam's two kids. this is also very slightly, temporarily, kid!fic. hurt/comfort. series AU. mention of toys/pegging. language.
Summary: Sam and Jess have everything going for them. A beautiful life, a beautiful family—a beautiful tragedy. But Sam has been seeing things, been warned—warned but Sam didn't listen. Sam doesn't listen and that fairy-tale life in Palo Alto, California vanishes like smoke from a blown-out candle. So Sam does the only thing he can think of to do: like the prodigal son, he returns to his older brother, Dean, and slips back into hunting like wearing a comfortable old shoe. But things are not all as they seem, and that man with the yellow-eyes? He's had a plan for Sam Winchester all along.
Notes: written for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang 2010.
The haunting of Morrow Road in Michigan is a real urban legend I appropriated for my own nefarious purposes in the story. It has been embellished and tweaked a little to fit as a case, but you can find information about it on the internet, if you are so inclined! Also, pretty much every place mentioned in Michigan is a real place—I got all that information from [livejournal.com profile] shades_of_hades, who lives in the area (the South Attica Cemetery, for example, is a real place, and is also apparently extremely creepy.)

All of you are totally awesome, and I love you to bits.
And a special note: [livejournal.com profile] kelleigh, thank you for putting up with me. <3 This girl spent months listening to me whine, but she never gave up on the idea that this fic could be worthwhile to read.
Speaking of listening to me whine, I need to shout-out to my sister for listening even though it's incest slash-fic and that's not her thing at all, but she's always supportive of me in everything I do. I love you.
BTW, [livejournal.com profile] rsc88tx, I am sorry if I didn't incorporate your comments well enough. I really appreciated the time you took to think things over for me, and I tried, but if there's anything I missed, flubbed, it's totally my fault. <3
And [livejournal.com profile] osmalic, you deserve so much more appreciation and thanks than I can give you. You went totally above and beyond the call of duty to do the art for my fic AND step up to help beta. Thanks so much. <3
Also, [livejournal.com profile] selu for the trauma/medical help. <3 (Any remaining errors are my own.)
I guess I should thank [livejournal.com profile] shades_of_hades, too, for listening to me whine for months about this... >:D

And, of course, to [livejournal.com profile] wendy and [livejournal.com profile] thehighwaywoman for organising this, keeping it awesome, and doing such a fantastic job at keeping it all on track. You guys rock.

Further Author's Notes: Part of the story is influenced/inspired by the short story "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman (the hunt towards the end). Also, I got some book suggestions from Kate, Stef, Jen, and [livejournal.com profile] wutendeskind. The book I eventually chose to reference was originally suggested by Jen, though I think Stef might have mentioned it too?
The movie referenced in Book One is Innocent Lies.

Thanks for reading, everyone!
